Glock burst onto the scene with his debut Paper Route Glock Season in 2017, from which the single "On My Soul" has nearly 8 million views on YouTube. He has since continued his meteoric rise with 4 solo mixtapes as well as Dum and Dummer, a collaborative effort with Young Dolph. In 2018, Glock teamed up with fellow Memphian and superstar producer Tay Keith for a pair of hits on “Russian Cream” and “Yea!!” The former has amassed over 86 million streams on Spotify to date.

Markeyvius LaShun Cathey, better known by his stage name Key Glock, is an American rapper and songwriter. The protégé of Memphis rapper Young Dolph shot to fame in 2017 with his Glock Season mixtape.
Markeyvius LaShun Cathey was born in South Memphis on August 3, 1997. When he was 20 months old, his mother was sent to prison, where he would spend the next 15 years in both state and federal facilities. His father was in and out of his life so he was raised by his grandmother and aunt. According to Cathey, he and his grandmother sometimes visited his mother in prison when he was young. At 18, he was charged with three counts of aggravated assault related to his involvement in the shooting. Fortunately for him, music provided a distraction from his often tumultuous life.
Cathey said he grew up listening to Gucci Mane and Lil Wayne and cites Three 6 Mafia as his biggest influence. He was also a big fan of the Pat project, whom he describes as the "Drake of Memphis". According to Glock, Pat's songs "If You Ain't From My Hood" and "Gorilla Pimp" changed his life. Its chorus inspired one of his songs, "Dig That". The first track Glock recorded was a freestyle of Future's "Ain't No Way Around It" in 2011.
